When processing payments through PbN Payments, merchants are charged transaction fees based on the card type and transaction. All fees are listed in Canadian Dollars (CAD). Here's a breakdown of the fees:

PbN Payment Service Fees (in CAD):

The fees are calculated similarly to US practices, but all amounts are in CAD. (For reference, See the PbN Payments Fee Structure and Surcharge Details.)

Surcharging Rules in Canada:

Quebec: Merchants cannot add surcharges to credit card transactions.

Other Provinces: Merchants can add a surcharge, but it must not exceed 2.4% of the transaction amount.

POS Payments in Canada - Standalone Mode Limitation:

Standalone mode is not supported for POS payments in Canada. The Customer Onboarding Team must ensure that Standalone mode is disabled on all POS terminals ordered for Canadian practices.
