Important Update: Changes to Stripe External Payments Tracking and PMS Sync

Created by Alyssa Elso, Modified on Thu, 26 Sep at 11:55 AM by Alyssa Elso

To enhance the accuracy and efficiency of our platform, we are implementing an important update regarding the tracking of Stripe payments made outside of PbN and their synchronization with your Practice Management Software (PMS).

Effective immediately (09/02/2024):

PbN will no longer track or sync payments made directly through Stripe but outside of the PbN platform. This means that payments processed directly through your Stripe account, without going through PbN, will not be tracked or synced back to your PMS.

Why this change?

Previously, if practices used Stripe both through PbN and independently, PbN could track all these payments and sync them back to your PMS. This sometimes led to double payment records in your PMS—one from PbN and another from your direct Stripe integration—causing significant challenges in reconciling accounts.

By limiting payment tracking and PMS syncing to only those transactions processed through the PbN platform, we aim to prevent these issues and ensure the integrity of your financial records.

What does this mean for you?

  • Payments made directly through your Stripe account, without using PbN, will no longer be tracked or synced with your PMS via PbN.
  • Reconciliation and reporting within PbN and your PMS will be more accurate, reducing the risk of duplicate entries and errors in your financial records.

We believe this update will simplify your financial management and enhance the accuracy of your payment records.
