In Practice IQ, you can set up automatic tasks to generate lists of patients who are due for recall visits soon. This allows your team to proactively manage patient follow-ups. This type of automatic task ensures that patients who are approaching their recall date are identified and assigned to staff members automatically.


Setting Up Automatic Tasks for Upcoming Recalls

You can customize the search period for patients who are due for recall, such as within the next month or another time frame that suits your practice’s needs. This allows you to stay ahead of recall appointments before they become overdue.


Below is an example of the panel used to configure this automatic task:


Key Features of the Setup Panel:

  1. Recall Due
    Set the time frame for when the patients are due for recall. For example, you can select patients due in the next 30 days, 60 days, or any other customized period.

  2. Details Section
    Use filters to fine-tune the patient list, such as:

    • Last Contacted: Avoid patients who have recently been contacted.
    • No Appointment Within: Target patients who haven’t scheduled an appointment within a specific time frame.
    • You can also filter by insurance, employer, or patient balance to focus on specific patient groups.
  3. Follow-up Intervals
    Set follow-up reminders for your team, such as 1, 7, 21, or 60 days after the task creation, to ensure consistent outreach efforts.

  4. Closure Rules
    Configure automatic closure of tasks once a patient schedules an appointment, ensuring that your task list stays up-to-date without manual intervention.
