Making Practice IQ Production Projections More Accurate for Dentrix Users

When Practice IQ calculates a projection, it can lead to discrepancies if certain appointments in Dentrix have service codes with no associated fee. Here’s how it works and how to ensure accuracy:

  1. Impact of Zero Fee Service Codes:

    • If an appointment in Dentrix involves service codes with no fee, Practice IQ will estimate the value of that appointment.
    • This estimated value is based on a 12-month average of production per appointment for the office.
    • As a result, the projection number in Practice IQ will be larger than the scheduled production view in Dentrix.
  2. Solution: Adjust Appointment Type:

    • When creating an appointment that will have a zero amount, adjust the appointment type to Low Production.
    • This adjustment ensures that such appointments are excluded from having an average production amount applied to them.

By following this method, you can make your Practice IQ production projections more accurate and aligned with the scheduled production view in Dentrix.
