Managing Multiple Treatment Plans in Dentrix

Created by Emily McClendon, Modified on Tue, 30 Jul at 10:48 AM by Alyssa Elso

To ensure accurate reporting of proposed treatment dollar amounts in Dentrix, it's important to understand how to handle multiple treatment plans.

Linking Treatment Plans

When multiple treatment plans address the same problem, link them in the following way:

  1. Recommended Case: Designate one treatment plan as the "Recommended Case."
  2. Alternate Plans: Mark the other plans as "Alternate."

Impact on Reporting:

  • Only the "Recommended Case" will be included in the Treatment Presented amount in the Treatment Acceptance Office and Treatment Acceptance Provider panels.

Handling Unique Treatment Plans

If a patient has multiple unique treatment plans, do not link them. Instead, keep them as separate treatment plans.

Impact on Reporting:

  • The total amount of all unique treatment plans will be included in the Treatment Presented dollar amounts.
